Benchmark my expenses

Expenses are a key item that a lender will consider in approving your loan. In addition to asking you to declare your expenses, they will use benchmarks (usually based on ABS data) to calculate a minimum expense amount. Below you can get a rough approximation of what a lender considers a minimum expense level for you/your family. Note that when providing expenses you should be projecting your expected expenses and items that are purely discretionary (eg beers at the pub) do not need to be included for the purposes of calculating loan affordability.
